One more VERY IMPORTANT TOPIC

Some of us super wonderful ladies have brought up the very real fact that a lot of our kids (those Issac's age and under), have not had a ton of interaction together. So we tossed out the idea of some scheduled games or ice-breakers just to get the younger generation acclimated to each other, and simply to help them learn each others names. This is a FAMILY reunion, and we desperately want for all of us to spend time together and get to know each other so much better. But we also want to avoid 'over-scheduling' the weekend and wearing everyone out.

So what's the balance? How do we spend time together and get to know each other in all the age groups, and still be sure to allow for free time?

And not just the kids. As adults I know we can tend to turn the TV on, or find solace in the electronic world. I will speak for myself, as a Law lady, there is very much the tendency to 'zone-out' in front of the TV and get lost in an attempt to rest or escape for the chaos of it all! Any suggestions?

Do we want to aim for an Electronic Free weekend?

Set certain times only for TV, Gameboys, etc?

As parents you will have to determine what's good for your kids...we'd love some helpful ideas or thoughts!! Send them our way!!

Thanks.
S

And in conclusion on the T-shirts....

OK. T-shirts are being ordered tonight and we have most everyone's sizes. If not we'll do some 'guesstimating' as Kiely called it! :)

Cost of the Reunion T-shirts is $12.00 each. When we get to Baltimore we can simply give Paul and Kiely checks to cover the shirts and the 'adult night out' at the same time. I think with both things we'll owe them around $27.00/adult, and $12.00/kid.

It has been expressed to me with GREAT love and generosity that if these cost or expenses are too much for anyone then donations are much appreciated. Whatever you can afford to give is helpful. And I know other family members have expressed the desire to help financially. We are ALL at different places with our lives, and for sure with our finances. We do NOT want $ to play any role in hurting or hindering the weekend together. Do what you can. Give what you can. And if you can give extra or feel led to do so...then do so. And that's all we'll say on that topic! :)

We did inquire about 'Baby T-shirts' but the smallest size the company makes is a 2-T.
Sorry Howellings!! :(

A few of you guys have inquired about the T-shirt idea. I talked to Daniel briefly about trying to come up with a design and maybe talking to Kiely or Aunt Margaret about the purchase process. Pictures Anyone?

OK, so some of you may know that I have kind of started to take my photography a little more seriously here recently and have my first solo wedding booked for September. I wanted to offer that over the Reunion if anyone is interested in family pictures, maternity shots, new born, couple, etc...pictures, then let me know. I would love to do that for you. Obviously I would take them for free, but if you wanted to order any prints you would have to pay for that...details to follow. If you are interested let me know! Thanks!

Stacy

PS. Check out my blog to get an idea of what I do!

Meal Planning and Allergy Alerts

So here are a few issues....Nate Law (Burl and Holly's youngest) has some pretty serious food allergies to Nuts and Eggs...as in we'd be making a nice trip to the ER!!!
We wanted to make everyone aware of this for planning purposes, when you are figuring out meals try to think about those things. Is there anyone else that special diet needs or allergies?? If so, please let me know ASAP!!

Here's the Paul C. Law Clan's Menu for Sunday July 5th, if the rest of you could get me your soon, it would be nice so that we can make sure we don't double up on any meals!
Breakfast - Pancakes, Bacon, and Blueberry Muffins
Lunch - Rice and Djese with Palm Oil Chicken (German Chocolate Cake for Dessert)
Dinner - Left overs :)

When you have your meals planned send them to me:

Direct Link for Race Sign Up

Hi all,
Sorry to send out another email about the 5K on July 4th. If you want to join those of us who are already signed up, you can join the Law Family Reunion Team, by clicking on the following link:
The race starts at 8 am and is in Potomac, Maryland (1 hour drive). We will leave our house around 6:00-6:15am (to allow enough time for a few wrong turns and package pickup). We should be back in Baltimore around 10:30 am. The cost of registration for the 5K is $30 and you get a race T-shirt. If you want the upgraded Underarmor t-shirt the cost is $48.
Don't let the fundraising verbiage bother you. You don't have to raise money.
Let me know if anyone has questions.
Kiely

That's from Kiely, obviously! So far the following people have confirmed their interest....
Paul and Kiely
Franco and Stacy
Stephanie
Danny and Molly
Aunt Margaret
Anyone else?

Sounds like everyone is excited. Check blog again soon for more schedule updates and housing plans! Thanks guys!

5K Race for Autism Speaks

Hi All!

I think Stacy's idea was awesome. This would be a great 5K to do together and the proceeds from registration go to Autism Speaks which is a great organization---they provide $1 million a year to our project. I am hoping this email will give you a link to join the team I created, named "Law Family Reunion". If not, go to the link http://potomac5k.org/
and find the place to join a team. Let me know if you have problems. Stacy and I have volunteered the grandparent generation to watch all kids that morning.

Kiely

Picture of Stephanie running...since it's the only picture I have of any of us running! :)

Autism Speaks Race?

Here's a link to a 5K on July 4th. It would be about an hour from Paul and Kiely's house and it is a race to support Autism Speaks. Anyone interested? I thought it might something fun for the runners and aspiring runners (me)! :)

http://potomac5k.org/

It would require getting up early on July 4th and it would take away most of the morning for those who went...so let's dialogue about it!

Right Around the Corner!!!!!!!

Ladies and Gents it is right around the corner!!!!!
Time to get this ball rollin'!!! I think we've gathered a general idea of who is and is not coming, as well as who is and is not having babies!!!
Here's a pre-edited version of the housing...if you are not staying at Paul and Kiely's then you need to make other arrangements at the Hotels listed below or bring a Tent and the back yard is yours! :)

Here's is Paul and Kiely's home address for those of you who are driving...mapquest is your friend!

2013 Willowcrest Circle
Baltimore, MD 21209

Here's the current housing set up:

The P. Law house will host with 5 bedrooms...
Guest Room - Burleigh, Holly and 4 kids
Isaac's room - Danny, Molly, Sophie, and baby in belly :)
Girls room- Franco, Stacy, and two kids
Jojo's room - Kimberly, James, and Baby
Office downstairs - Uncle Andrew and Aunt Margaret (potentially Amanda and baby?)
Basement could also potentially allow accommodations....to be determined!

Camping in the backyard could work for the following...
Andrea, Aaron, Isaac, Caleb, Joshua, Jason, Stephanie...anyone else?
Maybe a girls tent and a boys tent?

We thought it a priority to give housing to those with kids, so that at night when the children go to bed the adults can stay up and visit! Then those without kids can hop in their cars and drive to their hotels for the night.

I'm gonna talk to Kiely this afternoon if I can, and work out some more details...check the blog again later this weekend!!!
I'll post some updates on meals and event scheduling...there is a tentative schedule below on an earlier post.

Have a great day!

Are you coming?

Over on the right side of the blog I put a 'poll' asking who was planning on attending..and apparently only 5 of us will be there!! :( Not cool.
So for those of you who don't know all the ways of the WWW would you please send an email or give a phone call to Stacy confirming your plans to attend the Reunion.

Hotel Information and Accomodations

So Kiely has done some research for us and this is what we know...

The Radisson is more expensive, closer, and allows for flexibility in schedules.
Feel free to look at Websites.

http://www.radisson.com/hotels/mdbaltim

Next is the Ramada.

Ramada Baltimore West
1721 Reisterstown Road
I-695 & Reisterstown Rd
Pikesville, MD 21208 US

Phone:
443-450-4302
Fax:
410-484-9377

Here's the low down on them... they are a little farther away, cost significantly less, but do not allow for any cancellations or change in schedules.

So feel free to call or look at their sights and determine what works for you.

Now I am going to give what I think is the rundown of accommodations...Paul and Kiely feel free to inform me otherwise or send me corrections.

I believe that those with small children, (12 and under) will be able to stay at Paul and Kiely's house. For those of you with empty nests you are being asked to stay at the hotels. For single people, or others who feel the deep calling within them to be adventurous...well I think there was talk of Tents and camping in the back yard. If you are unsure about which category you fall into, feel free to ask! :)
There is also room for people to figure that sort of thing out for themselves...for example, my sweet Mom is coming, Dad is not. So Stephanie and Mom could share the cost of a room and there ya have it!! Problem solved!
